Verging the sea,
her arms lift to
remove cobwebs.
Rocks lacerate her
feet, she is instantly
unconscious of
her own starvation.
The week, aching
her neck, slowly
backstrokes away
pulling the din of
phones, emails and a
litany of mucky kitchens
into a sandy obscurity.
Salty seaweed saliva
kisses her wounds and
plaits her hair into
the rock pools, away
from her weekday,
to be embraced by
the unbridled ocean.
